Maximise Your Resources – Part 3

In the last post we talked about three more ways you can work on maximising your current resources. They included:

Today we’ll talk about the last three areas you can work on to maximise your current resources. They are:

  • An offer they can’t refuse
  • Would you like fries with that?
  • Stay away from the edge of the cliff

An Offer They Can’t Refuse

The secret to success is to stay ahead of your competitors- maintain the competitive edge. To do that you need make it easier for your customers/clients to say “yes” rather than “no”. You do this by eliminating all the psychological, financial, physical, emotional and other road blocks they may have.

You can take the risks for them by offering warranties and guarantees that make the customer feel more confident in you, your business and your products/services. You also must be serious about your offer and follow through if a situation does arise. The quickest way to the bottom is to play games or take back a warranty or guarantee.

Would You Like Fries With That?

It’s the oldest trick in the book. I mean, really, how many times a week do you fall for it? Every time you sell a product or service, you need to offer an add-on, upgrade or back-end product to go with it. These products must be complimentary to the original product being purchased and must create a higher perceived value.

Avoid the Edge of the Cliff

Continuing to test and measure your systems, products, marketing methods and all other aspects of your business allow you to see problems before they happen and therefore avoid falling off the edge of the cliff.

Here are a few specific areas you can test for potential improvements:

  • Marketing
  • Sales Copy
  • Customer Service
  • Sales Letters
  • Sales Presentations
  • Employee-Customer Interaction

Through testing these different areas you will find products/services where you can raise the price, maybe others where you can lower the price or offer that product as an incentive item, and find many others areas for improvement that will better utilise your current resources.

    Aaron Finch wants the aspiring openers in Australia’s limited-overs squad to assume nothing, declaring that
    he and David Warner are no certainties to open at this year’s
    World Cup.

    The impending return of suspended superstars Warner and Steve Smith have resulted in much uncertainty about Australia’s likely batting order for the 50-over tournament that is being hosted in England.

    Finch and Warner, having opened together during Australia’s march to
    the 2015 World Cup title, were fully expected to reunite at the top of the order.

    But the captain, speaking as his side prepared to start their
    series in India that is a key tune-up for this year’s World Cup, has
    made it clear that is no fait accompli.

    “Whatever we feel is the right combination at the time. I don’t think anything is out of question,” Finch
    told reporters.

    “There’s things you can juggle around in one-day cricket. I’ve batted in the middle order a little bit over the last little while, Davey has done it.

    “It’s a huge opportunity for guys to step up and almost cement their place,
    for the next little while.”

    Finch also pointed to the fact that Warner and Smith, whose bans expire next month, are both recovering from elbow surgery.

    “That should be in the back of your mind as well, that if
    things don’t go 100 per cent right with their rehab or they have some complications with it and they’re not back in time (for the World Cup),” he said.

    Warner’s year-long ban has left an undeniable void at the top of Australia’s order in all formats; Alex Carey, Chris Lynn, Travis Head and D’Arcy Short have all been trialled as Finch’s partner.

    Carey and Short headline the contenders to open alongside Finch in Vizag, where Australia’s tour of India starts with a T20 that begins at 1230am AEDT on Monday, while Usman Khawaja and Marcus Stoinis also have strong claims.

    Carey and Khawaja shape as Finch’s most likely opening partners during the ensuing ODI series in India, which will double as a selection showdown as Australia move closer to finalising their 15-man World Cup squad.

    Former opener Matthew Hayden, who is in India for commentary duties, was on deck at Saturday’s training session to pass on some pointers to Carey and other batsmen in the squad.

    “It was great to have JL’s (Justin Langer’s) great mate and a legend of the game,
    and somebody who has had so much success in India, come back and get
    around to a few of the boys,” Finch said.

    Dejounte Murray scored 30 points, Trey Murphy III added 24 and a game-saving blocked shot and the host New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Dallas Mavericks 119-116 on Wednesday night.

    Javonte Green scored 13, Yves Missi and Jordan Hawkins added 12 points
    each, CJ McCollum scored 11 and Murphy added 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocks for the Pelicans.

    Daniel Gafford had 27 points and 12 rebounds,
    Jaden Hardy scored 21, Spencer Dinwiddie scored 20, P.J.
    Washington added 14 points and 14 rebounds, Quentin Grimes scored 14 and Klay Thompson had 12 for the Mavericks.

    Gafford’s field goal started the second-half scoring and tied the
    score before the Pelicans went on a 14-4 run to take a 77-67 lead.

    Dinwiddie scored eight straight to start a Dallas surge.
    The Mavericks took a three-point lead on consecutive baskets by
    Grimes and Washington’s 3-pointer pushed the lead to 91-87 at the end of the third quarter.

    Murphy scored five straight points to help the Pelicans pull even before Dallas took a five-point
    lead.

    Murray made a 3-pointer and another jumper to give New Orleans a 109-107 lead, but Thompson scored five to give the
    Mavericks a 112-109 lead.

    The Pelicans regained the lead 116-114 on Green’s 3-pointer with 45.1 seconds
    left. After Murray made one of two free throws, Washington made two with 15.8 seconds left.

    New Orleans turned the ball over and Dinwiddie drove to the basket, but Murphy blocked his shot and
    made two free throws with 1.5 seconds left.

    Missi scored six points and Murphy, Murray, Javonte Green and McCollum each made a 3-pointer as New Orleans took
    a 22-12 lead. Dallas got within two before Brandon Boston Jr.

    and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl made consecutive
    field goals to give the Pelicans a 33-27 lead at the end of the first quarter.

    New Orleans took its largest lead of the half at 45-34 before the Mavericks
    pulled even at 53.

    Dalla tied the score again on a 3-pointer by Hardy before McCollum beat the buzzer with
    a layup that gave New Orleans a 63-61 halftime lead.
