Maximise Your Resources – Part 3
In the last post we talked about three more ways you can work on maximising your current resources. They included:
- Reveal your business’ soul
- From breaking even to breaking the bank
- Stand up and stand out
Today we’ll talk about the last three areas you can work on to maximise your current resources. They are:
- An offer they can’t refuse
- Would you like fries with that?
- Stay away from the edge of the cliff
An Offer They Can’t Refuse
The secret to success is to stay ahead of your competitors- maintain the competitive edge. To do that you need make it easier for your customers/clients to say “yes” rather than “no”. You do this by eliminating all the psychological, financial, physical, emotional and other road blocks they may have.
You can take the risks for them by offering warranties and guarantees that make the customer feel more confident in you, your business and your products/services. You also must be serious about your offer and follow through if a situation does arise. The quickest way to the bottom is to play games or take back a warranty or guarantee.
Would You Like Fries With That?
It’s the oldest trick in the book. I mean, really, how many times a week do you fall for it? Every time you sell a product or service, you need to offer an add-on, upgrade or back-end product to go with it. These products must be complimentary to the original product being purchased and must create a higher perceived value.
Avoid the Edge of the Cliff
Continuing to test and measure your systems, products, marketing methods and all other aspects of your business allow you to see problems before they happen and therefore avoid falling off the edge of the cliff.
Here are a few specific areas you can test for potential improvements:
- Marketing
- Sales Copy
- Customer Service
- Sales Letters
- Sales Presentations
- Employee-Customer Interaction
Through testing these different areas you will find products/services where you can raise the price, maybe others where you can lower the price or offer that product as an incentive item, and find many others areas for improvement that will better utilise your current resources.
This wraps up our series on how to maximise on your current resources. If you need help working through any of these or the previous areas, try our FREE test drive to work with one of our amazing business coaches.

If you’re embarking on a kitchen remodel and asking yourself, “How do I find the best countertop contractors near me?”—I’ve been there, and I can help! After recently completing my own kitchen renovation, I’ve learned some valuable lessons that will save you time, money, and headaches along the way.
First, don’t underestimate the importance of experience. Whether you’re installing quartz, granite, or marble, each material requires a different skill set. When I started my search for countertop contractors, I made sure to choose someone who had worked extensively with my chosen material. The best countertop contractors near me were able to answer all my questions and walk me through the pros and cons of each material, which made me feel confident in my choices.
Another tip is to ask for detailed quotes. Some contractors may offer low prices upfront, but when you dig deeper, you might find hidden fees or unexpected costs. The best contractors will give you a clear, detailed estimate that includes labor, materials, and any extra costs. I learned the hard way to always get everything in writing before agreeing to anything.
Lastly, consider your timeline. Some countertop contractors may be booked for months, so make sure you align your project timeline with their availability. I had to wait a bit longer than expected for my contractor, but the end result was worth it! A professional contractor will not only provide quality work but also stick to deadlines and keep you informed throughout the entire process.
Hiring the right contractor can make or break your kitchen remodel, so take the time to do your research. Good luck with your kitchen project—hope this advice helps you find the best contractor for your dream kitchen!

WIDER IMAGE-‘Pharaoh’, the king of Cairo strongmen
By REUTERS

By Mohamed Abd el-Ghany
CAIRO, March 25 (Reuters) – In Cairo’s Imbaba, strongman Karim
Hussein pulls trucks with his teeth, swallows nails and
casually steps on mounds of broken glass, offering one of the few forms of live entertainment for
residents of the poor and crowded district.
Dubbed “The Pharaoh” by friends and family, Hussein seemed destined to be
a strongman from a young age, and claims to have a unique biological makeup that easily
absorbs pain.
“I began this journey when I was around seven or eight years old. I was drinking a glass of milk, half of which was filled with ghee, and the glass broke,” he said.
“I started eating the glass from my hand, and until today I have between three to four cups (of glass) for breakfast. One day when I was at the barber shop, I took the razor from him and ate it.”
He leaves crowds spellbound along dusty, potholed lanes by
placing his foot under the tyre of a moving SUV, clenches a heavy wooden bench between his teeth or eats chunks of raw meat — Imbaba’s equivalent of street performers in cities like New York.
“When my parents noticed that I eat glass and razors, and saw me chewing on hammer nails, they took me to see several doctors and found that I can digest glass and metal as any other food,” said Hussein.
He says his abilities have been passed down to his children, who also lie shirtless on their backs over
broken glass as he stands on them.
The ‘Pharaoh’ also has a soft side.
He hopes his notoriety as Imbaba’s ultimate tough guy will enable him to one day perform for
the masses and donate his earnings to an orphanage or children’s cancer hospital.
Time may be on his side. Hussein says he is only getting stronger and healthier with age.

A Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? contestant
swore in frustration on last night’s episode after losing £15,
000.
Justin Beattie, from Bristol, was so stunned to learn he would be leaving the ITV competition with just £1,000 that he dropped an expletive in a show first, shocking
host Jeremy Clarkson.
The player, who spent 25 years as a submarine safety engineer and was aiming to
open a pub with his potential winnings, was sent home when the presenter asked: ‘Which sportsman retired aged just 26, before making an unsuccessful return to competition eight years later?’
Justin had a choice of four answers, including Bjorn Borg,
Alain Prost, George Foreman and Carl Lewis.
But Justin answered the £32,000 question wrong while he still
had all four lifelines remaining, guessing Carl Lewis
instead of correctly saying Bjorn Borg.
The contestant walked away with just £1,000 after failing to
secure his £16,000 win with a safety net before trying the £32,000
question.

There are many physical phenomena that can be modelled by sine waves:
Waves in water are an obvious example,
Compression and rarefaction in the propagation of
sound,
Transmission of all electromagnetic radiation,
Vibrations of strings in Musical Instruments,
Bodies “bouncing” on a spring.
Also, more complicated motion can be modelled by a superposition of
many sine waves (using Fourier transforms).
This enables complex motions to be studied more easily.
